DESIGN LED GIFTS  <<   MORWENNA BY ROBYN MARWICK

MORWENNA BY ROBYN MARWICK   I am currently in my 4th year of BA(Hons) Intermediate at Edinburgh College of Art, studying for a degree in Intermedia Art. I grew up in Shetland, my roots there are very important to me and inspire most of my work. Some of my jewellery is based on Celtic jewellery shapes and I use glass, plastic, wooden, metal and gemstone beads in colours based on the sea, northern sunsets and Shetland scenery. I also make jewellery based on scrapbooks and organic shapes. My scrapbook jewellery pieces are mainly made up of found twigs, from Fife, the Highlands and Shetland, with images glued and varnished on top. The images are mainly my photographs of anything and everything interesting, a scrapbook of images, especially from nature which complement the twigs; photographs of fruit, flowers and trees as well as lots of patterns and anything else with fantastic colour. Some of the images are collected from other sources, things like antique map images, and scraps from magazines. I also use buttons, beads, semi precious gems and mother of pearls.
